The Truth

The next two/three weeks will be HECTICALLY CRAZY for me.
I seriously do not care about the spooks of Halloween at a time like this. Not like I celebrate anyway -.-"

As of now, I'm rushing to beat the clock to finish the workload of my three subjects:
1) Public Relations: Contemporary Approaches
- Read 19 academic/scholarly journals
  (and do additional readings)
- Answer 16 questions/exercises.
- Do 7 writing practices
(which includes an email draft, web site text, feature article, media release, speech to respective  stakeholders)
- Write a 3000-word essay of a communication campaign and tactics
- Study for final exam
[All due 15th November, which IS the day of my final exam]

2) Communication Research
- Write a 2000-word essay/report of a research evaluation
- Study for final exam
[Due 8th November, which IS the day of my final exam]

3) Global Media Industries
- Write a minimum of 2500-word critical essay
[Due this coming Thursday, 4th November]
- Study for final exam [On 18th November]

My main concern now is for PR. I guess I slacked too much and taken lightly of this subject at the start of the semester. As such, my workload eventually piled up @_@ Nevertheless, I have learned from my mistakes. I mean, OF COURSE I've learnt! To be honest, my little heart is screaming omgosh I don't know how I'm going to complete so much in so little time! Let me just warn you that reading one journal article is like studying every word of The News Straits Times on political issues (or it could be worse!!!).

One thing is for sure, I will not give in to the devil. I simply refuse to crash and burn. Never. The one spirit that has kept me going on as always, is the gift of the Holy Spirit to persevere. The thought of giving up is absolutely ridiculous to me despite the look and shape of my situation now. THIS is what my heart recognizes as the strength of God working in me.

A simple prayer I say:
God, I know time is not on my side but You are. Let me be a living proof of Your strength and let the depth of my biblical faith be tested. Examine my heart O Lord. Amen.

With that being said, I shall continue to finish my work now.
Please keep me in prayer k!
I'll be back. You'll see :)

p/s
Oh when I'm done with all of this, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO geared up to take back my Stage Manager role again for
There's a show to run for Him! Speaking of this, I am reminded that there is another time bomb to defuse and I cannot ask for a better team to back me up as I place my priority as a student than the mad production people;
Chloe
- You're probably tired of hearing this but I'm still going to say it out loud. You are GODSENT!! Thank you for being an exact duplicate clone of me for this production. Meticulous! I like :D
Cheryl
- Cherry pie.. what more can I say about you? You keep me sane in the midst of all craziness that happens behind the scenes :)
Eugene
- Nooobbbbb!!!! :P The amount of commitment in you for the production is truly amazing to me. And.. I sometimes wish I have a slice of your genius brain :)
Stephanie
- You never fail to amuse me with your character. Haha! I am truly amazed by your dedication for this production :)
Ronny
- I'll always keep in mind that it's not being stressed but stretched. Stretched to accomodate a bigger and better capacity ;)

Tick tock tick tock.

Saturday Noon

It hit me this afternoon that I missed out TWO significant events from my previous post:
1) My stolen family car.
2) My best college buddy's 21st birthday.

About my family car, there's nothing much I can say nor do about it. The story is a typical one; like your simple, average mundane routine that was unfortunately intercepted. It happened two weeks ago, specifically on a Monday of 4th October 2010 -.-" Daddy had parked the car somewhere around Taman Tun's housing area just like every ordinary morning before walking to his office nearby for work. The day carried on as usual and it was only at night, after working hours that he discovered the car was gone. The horror. The horror. My mom and myself was left flabbergasted at home when we heard the news (although admittedly, my mom thought old age has gotten into my dad and merely assumed he had forgotten where he had parked). In Daddy's defense, he said the other car which he had initially parked behind of that morning was still there when he returned to the site at night.

Oh well. There's nothing much to mention. Really. The car just vanished and in case you're wondering, no it was not towed away or anything like that. It is simply gone. Already reported to the police and done all the necessary details of handling the matter. Still no sign of it. Sniff! :( So by chance, please let me know if you happen to spot a Nissan Serena that bears the number plate of WHX 3991 on the road. If you good Samaritans have ample time, do me a favor and check the condition of the car. In case you noticed that the car is in terrible condition, don't even bother informing the authorities about it. I hope the car is lost for good so my parents can claim full insurance *weak smile* It takes 6 months by the way. 6 MONTHS!! That's half a year :(

As such, transportation has not been easy for my dad and I. With one car left aka the Myvi I use to go to college, Daddy uses it now to go to work and has to travel back and forth to fetch me from or back to college. At times, I have to rely on college friends to fetch me or take the cab which cost me approximately RM6 due to the slowmo snail-paced traffic lights heading up to my place -.-" Therefore, my family is currently looking for a car to rent/borrow from. Preferably from close friends and such for convenience.

Anyway what was more important than my family car being stolen, was a leading conscience that spoke to me and provoked me to call up Sly's mom today. LoL. I surprise myself sometimes with the amount of courage in me at random times. I don't know why I never thought of it before but I was thinking that it would be nice if I could use Sly's car to go to college :D Sadly, nah.. Sly's mom said she has to use it. However, she does know of a friend's daughter who will be going overseas to study very soon. The daughter drives a Myvi *jumps in joy* She'll get back to me on Monday about that. She didn't promise me but it's a good start nevertheless :)

We had a good catch up on the phone :) Aunty told me their family are doing far from fine. She even mentioned that Sly's sister, Jacqueline is interested in taking up Mass Comm after her secondary school studies. I'll be more than happy to advice her on that! :D She also said she recently cleared up his room and noticed we've done many projects together, which reminds me I left a bunch of my stuff in Sly's car thinking I can collect it back from him anytime since I see him all the time. Guess not.. :'( Well Sly's mom assured me my stuff are in good hands by her. Haha. Thank you Aunty :) Aunty figured whenever she's in 1U or something, she'll let me know so she can hand my stuff over and we can catch up even more :D

Sly's birthday fell on the 17th September. I was pretty much busy on that day. Can't remember what at the moment but I didn't forget to wish him on Facebook that morning. Look at the time!! LoL  :)

Once again, happy 21st birthday! :')
You are and always will be my A-W-E-S-O-M-E college BFF! :P

Missing you,
Melissa

Picture Perfect

SoOooOoOoo much to share. Where do I begin? Hm.
Ok knowing myself and my supercalifragilisticexpialidocious writing style (whaatttt?!), I will summarize what I intend to say with extremely wonderful pictures for your ease at reading it because I care. All photos are arranged in order of the past events happenings. On a small note, I'm in love with CANON. No regrets! :D

Let's start in an ironic way by going three months back in time with WHAT I've gotten from Esther, Cheryl's sister's blogshop :)

I'm pretty sure you can guess (or maybe not) what I've gotten-
A CUPCAKE RING! :D
For the record, Esther has never made a cupcake ring before when I approached her but she made it anyway for me. I'm proud to be the first! Teehee! :P I had the ring customized to perfection; Pastel purple liner, white frosting topping covered with coloured sprinkles. What a delicious delight it was when I first laid my eyes on the actual thing!

Tadaaa!! I swear I would have taken a bite out of the cupcake if I was starving to death. No joke. S E R I O U S. LoL. This lovely accessory only costed me for a ridiculous price of RM10!! Unbelievable for the time and effort spent. It didn't even take long for it to be made. Plus, the ring came with a tiny zip-lock bag and was wrapped with a nice wrapping paper. I really salute the amount of commitment and dedication Esther has for her work. Oh by the way, the grey casing shown is of my own. It's not included with the ring and is merely intended for illustration purposes. Hehe :P Here are more views of this amazing work of art!

Here's a glance at what the shop has to offer!

Gingerbread Man Necklace- RM17 / RM20 including postage

Waffle Studs- RM10 per pair

Chocolate Brownie Ring- RM11

Thank you Esther for doing such a great job with the ring. It's truly a talent to do what you do. Judging by the way you're generously pricing your items, Cheryl told me you're really doing it out of love and it's crystal clear to me that you are. Ooh and I also heard Cleo magazine wanted to review your blog? Congrats!! Keep doing what you do best and may your work be widely recognized by the whole world! God bless! :)

It's official! I'm married to a cupcake ♥
Next stop: MAD REHEARSALS.

In case you're unaware, SIBKL and DUMC's Christmas production this year has been given the title, Mad World. Thus, everything has been pretty mad lately. Not surprising. Here are the dancers during one of those mad rehearsals under the strict direction/observation and choreography of Kenny! Assisted by Daryll :)

As Kenny has mentioned before, the dancers' rehearsals can be somewhat referred to as Hell. LoL! It's like attending a two and the half hours boot camp if you ask me. I've heard way too many crackling of bones and symphatized the countless injuries these poor dancers have encountered. Nevertheless, it's all worth it. I know it will be. Kudos to these dancers! They're are doing a great job! :D

Daryll looking forward to see Y O U for the show. Be blown away! ;)

Welcome to Heaven- The Singers' Lounge :P Enclosed in here is where you'll find the sweet sound of angels. The singers are so talented and brilliant that honestly sometimes, I find myself at the verge of holding back my tears to such powerful and inspiring songs. Secret sniff! ('.')

During those mad rehearsals, we also found the time to surprise Chloe on her 22nd birthday (10th September). She is DUMC's Stage Manager and she is such a blessing to all of us!!

Here is the creative and production team! Plus one singer, Alex (who is Chloe's brother). LoL.

Smile for the camera XD

NO COMMENTS on what happened to that particular cake :P

The best photo yet! The production teammm!!! :D
L-R: Eugene, Me, Stephanie, Chloe and Cheryl.

Haha!! We the crazees. I heart this pic a  lot :)

I still can remember Stephanie made us laughed so much that day. She bought those two cakes and asked the guy to write 'Happy Birthday Melissa' without thinking. LoL!! Luckily that was written on the thin sheet of plastic so we took it off the cakes. Problem solved. Instantly. I guess.. that's part of being 43 yo! :P

Not too long after that, I officially graduated with a Diploma in Mass Communication. Like finally! :) I actually completed the course since March but the convocation was held much later -.-" 24th September at One World Hotel was surprisingly a great day. It started off pretty boring at first with the hardcore protocols being told, staging rehearsal and tedious robe-changing but it ended really well towards the end of the day. The fact of just talking to everyone and asking how they were made it a day for us all to appreciate and cherish those moments. It was so good to see familiar faces again and keeping in touch with everyone. I really enjoyed myself during the convo XD
Me and Louis (My current 'kaki lepak' in college)

The peeps from my intake, January 08! Except Louis :P
L-R: Louis, Me, Khairul and Melissa Tan

The peeps I interned together with! Except Louis :P
L-R: Soh Woon, Albert, Louis and I.

OMG does this photo remind you of Harry Potter or what?Urgh! This is seriously weird. Charlson just needs that thunderbolt scar on his forehead to complete his look! and I wonder wassup with Louis acting all cute. Tsk! :P

LoL!! Ms Anna and I. She taught me in my last semester for a subject called Communication Law :)

One of the nicest lecturers I've had! Mr Rubin Khoo aka August Man Magazine editor! This big shot here taught me for the subjects of Introduction to Sociology and Newswriting and Reporting for Print Media.

Brandon heading the pyramid of Mr Brian and I (with Albert smiling at God knows what or who at the corner). Mr Brian here taught me for two subjects; Desktop Publishing and Multimedia&Web Development.

My younger brother, Maverick and I. Obviously, I got all the bad genes T.T Ivan was right, I DO look like I'm wearing a garbage bag. Sighh..

Mommy and I. Thank you for everything. I love youuuuu!! :)

Wheeee.. My name appeared in The Star newspaper that morning :D Squint squint squint.

Spot my name! :D

Once again, congrats everyone! We made it through! :D

Moving on to.. MAD PHOTOSHOOT. Now this time, I'm not calling it Mad because the show is called Mad World. The photoshoot was really mad to the core of the definition. We were all supposed to be ready at 4.00am to get our hair, make-up and costumes done. Initially, I thought all of us were gonna be sleeping beauties for once and sleep early for this but apparently NOT. Guess what Kenny, Leon and I were doing at midnight? Having supper at MCD, near Centrepoint XD

Gotta admit. Kenny's camwhoring skills are not too bad. LoL.

I think I really dug my own grave. Haha because at 3.30am, Chloe woke me up with a call. I was supposed to fetch her and Alex at 3.15am for the photoshoot and there I was, still cosily tucked in my bed when she called. Of all days, my alarm decided not to work on that day! Argh so embarassing...

After I've settled down and calm down from the starting of the pre-photoshoot phase, the first photo I took of was Zara. Aww.. she looks adorable despite her hair-do. Sho cute! :)

The dancers getting their hair done at the Mad Salon.

The amount of make-up spread out that day was definitely a sight not to be missed! Phew..

The guys didn't really have to get their hair done and so their patience was put to the test. They passed of course! Evidence as below.

L-R: Wes, Daryll, Leon and Li Qi.

Joy touching up Zara's make-up.

Riana and Sara begging for mercy. You know, they ought to get a bird each to nest upon their heads :P

A HUGE side-view of Sara's hair @_@ Randy at the side. Thank you for coming to help out :)

My make-up artist, Sze Yoong and I!  Ronny in the background. Sze Yoong appeared in Mr Rubin's magazine before and she owns an online accessories shop, Sze Accessories. I'm super in love with the bridal collection. LoL!

 Whimsical Ring- RM59
Beige Hairband- RM22.90

Okay.. back to the Mad photoshoot! :D

Pwetty Juni :)

Gorgeous Chloeee :)

By the end of the photoshoot, we went crazyyy!! We ended about 6pm if I'm not mistaken. When I got home, I was as good as a drunken sailor. Soooo tiring. Heh but it was an awesome day!! :D

A big thanks to Grace Tan, our photographer for spending the time to snap those amazing shots! We really appreciate you :) You can find her more of her work on STORIES.

Sneak previews of Mad World..

So do come and watch Mad World. Seriously ok!
It's free for all and everyone who is anyone at all is invited to come. See you thereeee! :)

Last but not least, my dear friend Wen-ly has left to Cardiff, England for 2 whole years. Sniff! We sent her off at the airport about 1.45am on Tuesday. Malaysia is gonna be quiet from now on with her absence.

Truly we have come along way since Calvary and now, SIBKL. I miss you Aunty. Take care of yourself k. May God bless you and protect you while you pursue your studies there. Don't you dare forget me and my souvenirs! Hehe. Love you loads. :')

and as how Madeline's narrator says it,
"That's all there is. There isn't anymore." :)
(For now at least!).

Au revoir!
